No More Boring Language Arts Classes!

April 27 – May 1

Short. Simple. Actually fun.

Most of us want our kids to experience Shakespeare…

But figuring out how to actually teach it?
That’s where things fall apart.

So instead of overthinking it, we’re keeping this simple.

For one week, we’re going to explore Shakespeare together in a way that actually works in real life.

Short lessons. Flexible structure. And one really fun live event your kids will not forget.

Here’s What Our Week Looks Like:

Day 1: Meet Shakespeare + fun activity
Day 2: Step into his world (The Globe + how plays worked)
Day 3: Listen to and enjoy a Shakespeare story with a live reading
Day 4: Try writing your own (yes, really!)
Day 5: Shakespeare insults + live workshop

Dachelle McVey, creator and owner

Hi, I'm Dachelle. I am the owner of Literary Adventures for Kids, and I want to help you teach language arts in a way that is easy for you and fun for your kids.

I'm a former traditional teacher turned homeschool mom. I have a passion for literature and for adding adventure to our homeschool. I’ve taught Shakespeare in ways that actually work for real families.

At Literary Adventures for Kids, I take those experiences and use them to create online book clubs that add that little bit of magic to your children's education.

This is for you if:

  • you’ve wanted to try Shakespeare but keep putting it off
  • your kids aren’t exactly excited about reading right now
  • you need something simple that still counts
  • you don’t want to spend hours planning
  • Join our week of Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations!

    Commonly Asked Questions

What ages of children is the lit camp for?

This literature camp is appropriate for all ages. We'll have activities for elementary through high school and even one for parents!

    What supplies will we need?

The project supply list is provided at the beginning of the week. It will be common household items.

When does the lit camp start and finish?

It begins on April 27 and ends on May 1.

How long should this lit camp take my child?

The literature camp lasts one week.

What if I am unhappy with the lit camp?

We understand that not every book or course is the perfect fit. Due to the live nature of this product, we are not able to offer a refund after lit camp begins.

Will the teacher provide any feedback to the child on their writing projects?

YES! We will provide feedback in the form of critiques and encouragement. Students may choose to submit their assignments in the course or to their parents.

Can my child work through this independently?

Yes, this course is designed for children to complete mostly independently. However, parents should be available to help, especially with younger kids.

Can this be used for more than one child or as a family lit camp?

Absolutely! We are a homeschooling family, and we encourage all our children to participate in lit camp. Often we will read the book together as a family read-aloud and then work through the rabbit trails and magic dust together.
