Creative Writing I
Adventure + Writing
An All-In-One Solution for the Busy Homeschool Family
Let Your Teen Find Their Voice...
Without the Eye Rolls and Dramatics
Creative Writing I is a 12-week online course for advanced middle and high school homeschoolers who want to build writing confidence, explore their voice, and actually enjoy writing.
With weekly lessons, live group sessions, and out-of-the-box assignments, your teen will earn a semester of high school credit while learning how to express themselves through writing in a safe and supportive environment.

Hi, I'm Dachelle. I am the owner of Literary Adventures for Kids, and I love helping students discover that writing can actually be fun.
I'm a former traditional teacher turned homeschool mom. I have a passion for literature and for adding adventure to our homeschool. At Literary Adventures for Kids, I take my experience as a traditional school teacher and use it to add that little bit of magic to your student's education.
In this course, I help students build confidence in their writing, share their ideas, and enjoy the process along the way.
Let’s be honest: writing can feel intimidating for your teen AND for you.
You want them to write well. But every time you bring it up, they groan.
Or freeze.
Or launch into a dramatic monologue about how they “don’t know what to say.”
You’ve tried all the things: workbooks, grammar-heavy curriculum, even the occasional cookie bribe (we see you).
But nothing sticks.
What if writing didn’t feel like pulling teeth?
What if your teen could:
Discover their unique voice—and feel proud of it?
Say, “That was actually kind of fun” after a writing assignment?
Build confidence as they learn to express themselves?
Feel safe enough to share their work without fear of judgment?
That’s the dream, right?
Here’s the thing.
Writing doesn’t have to be painful.
You don’t have to be a writer to raise one. And you definitely don’t need another dry textbook or formulaic essay prompt to get there.
Creative Writing I is led by a seasoned homeschool educator who believes writing should be expressive, confidence-building, and, dare we say, fun.
This course blends structure and creativity, offering your teen both freedom to explore and a safe place to grow.

Not at all. This course is designed to build confidence first, then gently guide students in developing their writing skills. We focus on voice, purpose, and building a strong writing habit. There are no essays in this course, and no pressure to write fictional novels if that’s not their thing. Not at all. This is perfect for reluctant writers who need a fresh, non-scary approach.
