Hi, I'm Dachelle. I am the owner of Literary Adventures for Kids, and I want to help you teach literature in a way that is easy for you and fun for your teens.
I'm a former traditional teacher turned homeschool mom. I have a passion for literature and for adding adventure to our homeschool. At Literary Adventures for Kids, I take my experience as a traditional school teacher and use it to add that little bit of magic to your student's education.
Don't let the idea of teaching high school intimidate you.
We've taken care of all the work, so you don't have to!
Let us help you teach Language Arts!

Banned Books Literature Series for Teens

What Makes This Curriculum Different?
You’ve seen other literature programs, but this one was built with homeschool families (and real teens) in mind.
Here’s what sets it apart:
Independent Learning, Made Simple
These book clubs are designed for high school students to complete mostly on their own. With step-by-step guidance, your teen can take ownership of their learning, while you get a little breathing room.
Literature That Sparks Real Thinking
The books in this series weren’t chosen just to check off a reading list. They were selected because they make teens think—about courage, identity, justice, empathy, and the world around them.
Creative Projects & Hands-On Activities
Our “magic dust” projects bring the stories to life through art, food, music, or interactive experiences. It’s not fluff. It’s connection.
Rabbit Trails of Discovery
Each book club includes guided rabbit trails into history, culture, science, or current events. These short, focused explorations deepen comprehension without overwhelming your schedule.
Party School Celebrations
At the end of each book club, we celebrate the adventure! Whether it’s a themed dinner or just a fun snack, we make finishing a book something worth celebrating.

Confused about what is in Literary Adventures for Kids Online Book Clubs?
Let's look at what makes up every online book club:

Rabbit Trails
In our book clubs, we go on rabbit trails of discovery. We hop off the traditional roads of literature studies and meander down paths about science, culture, history, biographies, poetry, music, and more.
We take deep dives into some of the subjects touched on in the book and broaden our minds with new adventures — all while building better reading comprehension.
Magic Dust
In every book club, we bring literature to life by sprinkling a bit of magic dust along the way.
These hands-on projects will take us into the book through science, art, games, and more. Students make connections to the literature by touching, seeing, feeling, and becoming a part of the book through the activities.

Language Arts
Just because we're having fun doesn't mean we leave out the grammar, vocabulary, and writing.
In all of our online book clubs, we include spelling, vocabulary, copywork, dictation, and grammar concepts.
We also discuss literary elements found in the book and use our new knowledge for a writing project at the end of the book club.
It's like sneaking the vegetables in the mac and cheese!
Party School!
The pinnacle of the Online Book Club experience is the Party School!
At the end of each literature study, we celebrate the book with a party. Invite friends or family over for food and fun! All the ideas for food, decorations, and activities are included.
